This One’s For My Fellow Geeks…

A post at Wil Wheaton’s blog led me to this interesting history of the use of retcons in comic books. It gives a nice overview of the process and even though I strongly disagree with a lot of his thoughts on individual stories (I have, for instance, never met a Spider-man fan who actually liked the idea of Peter and MJ being married) , the history is instructive.

I will say this, as my final word on the whole One More Day / Brand New Day, Spider-man event thing. Regardless of the editorial reasons or the twists it took to get there, the last two issues of Amazing Spider-man have delivered more fun then the previous twelve years worth of books. This is what Spidey was meant to be and it’s nice to have him back….
