By a weird coincidence, I was at an impromptu party where this sort of came up…

I was sitting with two good friends on a couch. Let me give you pertinent information on each so that this will make sense:

JM makes Dungeons and Dragons jokes and has an XKCD t-shirt
Stacey likes to drive across the border to Buffalo to shop at Saks Off Fifth Avenue

Now that we have archetypes in mind:

I mentioned 4chan, and Anonymous vs. Scientology.
JM knew of 4chan, but not Anonymous and the battle with Scientology.
I was like, what the hell, have you been living under a fucking rock?

And Stacey said, “I heard about that on the news.”
