Flag Fallout
June 7, 2007
So I wrote this little essay the other day, maybe you read it….?
Fuck The Flag was posted both here and over at Stupid Evil Bastard. Shortly thereafter it was linked to from many other blogs: Web’s Random Ideas, The Radical Libertarian, The Smug Baldy Speaks, No Third Solution, even some guy’s MySpace page.
That’s a lot of attention for such a rant.
But the best comes today. I’ve been linked to from what appears to be a Russian blog called Liberator. It’s hard to tell because, well, I don’t read Russian. (Actually, it might be dutch or something. I can’t tell.) I’m sure this puts me on some list somewhere and I can probably except a visit from Homeland Security now.
But the paragraph on Liberator is worth it. Especially the one part that’s in English. It looks like this….
Fuck flaget Det er ikke pænt at bande, men nogle gange er det nu befriende at læse noget, hvor der ikke bliver lagt fingre imellem. K. Patrick Glover om “Land of the free”: “You’re being fucked up the ass with the giant dick of patriotism and all you can say is, “harder, harder.””
My work is done…….
(Correction: It appears the site is Danish. Can anyone translate Danish?)

Hi, I put the link on Liberator. It’s the largest libertarian online community in Denmark – you’re on your way to stardom!
The text says: “Fuck the flag | It’s not a nice thing to swear, but sometimes it’s relieving to read something where the word aren’t minced. K. Patrick Glover on the “Land of the free.”
But seriously… Russian? They have like their own alphabet.

Hehehe.
Sorry, I’ve got Russian on the brain. My wife’s over in Volgolgrad for six weeks and now everything I don’t understand is Russian to me…
Thanks for the translation and the link.
