I am numb. I think without cable, I'll control my exposure to these things a little more, and remember that I have a brain to research these things with.

*sigh*

Awful? Certainly not. Just numb. A common affliction in today's 24 hour news cycle.

I've grown way too cynical in my "old" age I guess. It didn't affect me other than in the, "Christ, people can really be fucked up" kind of way. I don't believe mankind is inherently good, therefore this kind of thing comes as no surprise. The audacity of certain figures of the media pouncing on classmates and professors like so many sharks circling raw bloody meat made my stomach turn and my head hurt. In the digital day and age, I guess this becomes everyone's problem, everyone's madness... When in my opinion, the community affected should deal with it and heal, instead of having to endure tribute after tribute year in and year out, and legislators trying to make this their issue in a year of pre election craziness.

It's fucking sick.

Keep in mind I've had a horrid two weeks in a lot of respects and I'm grumpy as hell. We're getting rid of cable this week so we don't have to deal with this on repeat on any and all of the news channels. I'm so tired of the overanalyzing, namby pamby journalists who are going to beat this thing to death. It was horrible, I don't dispute that at all. Am I completely off here? Am I awful? I don't know. Tell me what you think.
