I was just sifting through a Doctor Who forum where I discovered my new favorite word. It was in a post by Who novel writer Lance Parkin.
The Daleks have a word, ‘Clyffil’. It means ‘Yes, I understand perfectly, it’s just that you’re wrong’.
Which is just too perfect……

Cliffil – is it pronounced Kliff’l or Sliff’l.
I use the word: Bullshit – it also means ‘Yes, I understand perfectly, it’s just that you’re wrong’.
No clue how it’s supposed to be pronounced but I’m leaning towards Sliff’l.
And personally, I’d define Bullshit more as “Fuck you, you’re wrong”. Cliffil is more polite. (Have you ever seen the movie From The Hip? There’s a marvelous scene where Judd Nelson is arguing before a judge that there’s no word in the English language that has the exact same meaning as the word asshole.)

I don’t think I’ve seen it.
We have a couple words that are a bit outa vogue these days.
Date & Ring.
Having said that, you’d use either word like: The bastard kicked me in the ring or date, or The bastard dated me … which is usually done by rugby league players with a finger when they’ve tackled an opposition player to the ground.
But, you couldn’t really call someone a date or a ring – it’d be powerless … so, Robin ‘Stormy’ Weathers, was correct.
I still like bullshit better. But most of the people who know me know how I mean to use it. And I am too much of a pussy and a nice person to mean it in a more derogatory sense.
I like that: the bastard dated me. I guess I should be careful how I use that one though…
